Removing the handles on a Si.

Right i decide im gonna colour code the handles, i buy the paint and stuff, get home, take the door apart, and ford + haynes, do me over.
Haynes manual and the inside of my door look completely different.
Ive got some kind of security black box thingy, preventing me from removeing the handle, and with no obvious, way to remove it.
Any idea what i can do???

RIGHT!
I had this when de-handling, right old ba$tard!!!
Basically, on the side of the door there will be 3 screws holding the door latch on. Don't ouch these! Above these there will be another one. Undo this. Take the door card off and if you follow the annoying metal thingg all the way down to the bottom there will be another screw on the inside of the door. Undo this. The only way it is now secured is by a bglue type stuff sticking it to the door. Run a stanley knife along this to loosen.
Then you basically have to yank it off (if the door was shut towards the engine compartment!)

Yeah,
They make it immposible to get into the locks from outside the car.
They are indeed a fcuking biatch to get back in, about 10'000 times harder than getting them out infact

Undo the first screw that rob mentions (the one above the 3 door latch ones) then put your hand insiude the door and lever the anti burst bit towards the front of the car from the top. Then you can access the screws to undo the handles. Also this way you just bend it back and tighten the screw to refit-easy! Brad
