What engine?

Got Haynes manual?

Clean the area up with lint-free rag (you don't want to block your oil pick up with crap) and tighten the bolts working outwards from centre to 10Nm torque or handbook setting if you have a Haynes handy.

Take ur time!

They cost buttons anyway so worst thing can happen is you have to re-do, but avoid pinching the gasket and breaking it esp if it's cork.

Some people recommend smearing a little vaseline on the mating surfaces as it breaks down with heat so it won't block oilways and can help maintain a water tight seal. Personally I'd just do it dry :)

cheers proj, its a 1.3 hcs engine. I've unbolted the 4 bolts the rocker cover had, and lifted it off. I put the new cork gasket in dry, and just bolted it back up. It seems to be fine, i'll keep an eye on it and hope for the best. lol

cheers agen
