Repositioning exhaust bumper hole

I recently fitted my new exhaust system, I had a mate weld the back box but he didn't mark it up properly and it's off as you can see, I can't move the exhaust in position without cutting and re welding it.

Any body know what I should do? I was thinking either some how cover up the hole and cut a new one or cut from the top of the whole right across to the other side a bit like the mk5 zs bumper. Any ideas?

Worse an much more effort to change the bumper than it is to get your mate to do a proper job!
