The valve guides were replaced along with the valves. Took it same place i had my engine re-bored.
Head skimmed and valves re-seated also.
I took the sump to our local powdercoaters and they said to me on the phone a week later it needed 4 days in soak to removed the 8 years of s**t that was on the sump.
so i guess it was dipped. will ask next time im down there.
Im very jealous how nice it is
they didnt coat the inside - back to bare metal like it should be

jayrs :very nice
what it cost to be done on the sump?
£40 to coat it in the gun metal grey
£30 for the extended dip/clean
Bit steep but worth paying the extra to get it perfect. New ford sump is over £160 new so can complain really

Re: restore time!! *UPDATE 7/2/10 :) *
engine is back home looks very nice indeed bar the state of the external part of the block which ill be painting some time this week (not fudgekin yellow!)
the engineer was just bloody brilliant, quality service. if anyone needs their engine done, let me know, he's based in ponders end and has alot of experience in building and driving drag racing engines and cars, his own doing 6 second 1/4s

with me in the car mate (18 stones), setting a target of a 14 seconds would be more realistic!
