rev gauge issue
right got the fiesta all back together now after its rebuild but i did have an issue that had started before my rebuild and still seems to be there where the rev gauge jumps to 2000rpm when i turn the key sometimes higher and this is without the engine running, it seems to work fine when the engine is running though just wondering if someone has had the same problem or point me in the right direction to sort this out

Re: rev gauge issue
Have you noticed if the rev counter "jumps" when you switch on and off a high load? For example, if you have powered windows and the engine running, if you press the window switch, usually for closing, does the rev needle move? Usually such problems are ground point issues, check the ground points and cabling around dashboard and instrument panel.

Re: rev gauge issue
hi are you using the correct clocks for the car?
