Rolling Road tuning?

Postby Starky on Fri Nov 08, 2002 5:30 pm

Am thinking about getting my 2i rolling road tuned, what will this do to it exactly?
It needs it doing as it's all over the place at the moment and the car only starts to move after about 4k revs! :(

If I get it rolling roaded what kinda things will get tuned, will it level it out to rev how it should do?
Sorry to ask a lame question but i know absolulty nothing about rolling road tuning??

:-?

A RR session will iron out any flatspots u may have and the car will feel alot better to drive and be more responsive.

DOH! Just seen where your from.

Try Sanspeed in Bexley. Decent prices and have been dealing with Ford's for years. They do a rolling road tune for £60 + VAT.

Tel: 020 8303 4314 / 020 8301 4676 Graham Sansom

soz but i have a 2i and puting it on a R.R is a wast of cash
as there is just 1 thing they can play with on the 2i(But if ur geting it maped then RR is good)so i say goto some 1 like scc they r the mut's and can set ur car up 4 about £40( i think) and ur car will run at it best
i have had a lot's of pep's tune my car and R.R's do not much 4 the N.A
E.F.I.
P.T.S and power E set my 2 up then put on the R.R 2 get the power
but they did not tuch my car on the R.R.

soz 4 the spelling just got i from the pub

( O thats wot i think)

I agree with xr2i 1649, there isn't much that could be adjusted only the co and fuel pressure i think, and you don't need a rr setup for the co and the fuel pressure should be ok, better off spending the cash on plugs, oil change and get the co2 checked.

agree that there not must to tune with the standard 2i though as starky is saying that the engine is all over the place it could be useful for a diagnostics run to find out what is wrong, though it would be cheaper maybe first going to your run of the mill garage and just checking the ecu first.
the nearest rolling road near me only costs £25/hour :D
