roof strips

has anyone on here removed and smoothed there roof strips on a mk3? thinking about doing mine but would like too see what they look like. preferably a guide would help so i know wether to weld in a plate then filler over that or use P40 fibreglass then fill over that??

please help lol

i just wacked filler in them, allthough, after i did i had a leaky sunroof, so i dont know well i didnt check if their was a drain away ....so dont know if it was down to me filling the rails in or just that i had aa leaky roof,,

i just used filler, lots and lots of filler, and it didnt crack, looks nice when done, im debating doing it again on my red fiesta,,,

I used expanding foam then filler got sum pics in my build thread if ya wanna see. Was quite easy to do really. I would advise welding it up if possible i cant weld so took the foam route.
