You can do it and a focus RS Turbo and manifold will fit but the cams in the RS1800 are high lift ones not very good for turbo cars so i wouldnt recommend it plus you have to lower the comp sort the breather system out etc etc. Its not a small job mate.

Better off building a 2litre zetec turbo lump or cvh lump instead of messing about trying to turbo the rs1800 engine.

as others have said it can be done but its not just a case of bolting the turbo on and job done, there is alot of other things you have to take into considertaion, would be cheaper just to buy a cvh turbo engine and put that in your car than messing around with the rs1800 engine

no you could still use your gearbox although it would be wise to change it if you were wanting to run alot of bhp, obviously you would have to uprate your clutch at the very least

It can be done and has been done but to do it properly will cost you a wedge. Most people recomend you budget on £5k to do a Zetec Turbo build properly and I know a few people who have spent excessively more than that.

You are spot on there mate i had 3k to spend on my ZT build and i have smashed that so far everyone seems to think you can do it on a shoe string but thats just not the case dont enter in to doing it if you dont have deep pockets!!

is it in performance ford at the moment that they have a 5k budget to build a zetec turbo ka? i think it is then if so there spending alot less than 5k on building the engine, and they have guides over the last 3 issues on what to do. looks good, but i suppose if your building that sort of engine your going to need to upgrade your suspension and brakes as well

Your spot on there mate i would say about 1/3 of my spending has been on suspension, lower arms, brakes etc etc its not all about the engine.

Your all spot on it does take alot of money and not just on the engine you gotta think about tyre's cos they won't last long suspension and brakes and not 2 forget the gearbox. I should know blown 3 in 2 months. Also will the shell take a big power increase cos mine didn't just started fallin apart around me.
