rs 1800

does anyone have a pic of an rs 1800 engine cos I bought one but I reckon it's a 16v 2i engine, how can I tell the difference?
How easy/expensive is it to turn the 2i engine into a rs1800 one?
If it is an rs1800 engine how can I go about having it turbo'd and what's the cheapest I can do this for?
Your advise and knowledge will be much appreciated!!!

Externally you should be able to identify the 1800 engine by looking on the engine block, underneath where the exhaust manifold sits. It should show '18' cast in to the block, about an inch high. Similarly the 2.0 has '20' cast in to the block.

Also it should show "DOHC 16V" cast in to the cam cover.

The engine codes are different to indicate whether under-piston oil sprays were fitted (RS1800) or not (XR2i 16v).
The engine number is on the block (can't remember where, but probably on the exhaust side close to the exhaust manifold).
For XR2i 16v engines the engine code will begin RDB, for RS1800s the code should be RQC. The filter to throttle body pipe should have 130ps written on the sticker, but that's not hard to swap or remove.
Pre-93ish models should have Recaro seats in a darker version of the Turbo trim, colour coded rooftip spoiler, and I think 15" alloy wheels. Post-93ish models had the rubber rooftip spoiler, no boot swage line (yes Mark and Ian, you win you ho ), and winged Si-style seats.
