RS TURBO STAGE 3 BIG VALVE PORTED HEAD

Postby fiestamk3.5 on Thu Feb 09, 2006 11:08 am

as above

what gains could i expect on if i used this head on a 1.6 8v xr2i
the head has a full ARMED BAYJOO KENT CAM KIT (CVH34)

my xr2i is standard apart from piperx filter and induction kit power boost valve and peco exhaust

also would it be ok to fit a frst head to a standard 2i bottom end

The head will fit and work but the cam will be no use. To be honest you will get very minimal gain without a lot of other work.

Start with sorting the basics first before looking at the head and cam. Induction kit and a proper exhaust are the best places to start. That was all I had on my old 2i for about a year and it was enough to pull away from the blue RS1800 at the Revs day at Alconbury.

The CVH34 is an uprated cam designed to work with a turbo application not n/a. You would see minimal gains without a lot of work.

The standard head and cam are the same as the 2i (cam pulley is different though iirc). I would say you may gain 3 maybe 4bhp.

My old heavily tweeked 2i made just over 130bhp.

You would need the turbo bottom end and turbo and management etc.

You would be better off just buying a Fiesta Turbo in that case. You could always get a cam kit designed to work on the n/a engine although you will still need to get the fuel in accordingly to improve the performance
