rs turbo tuning

Postby andy-rs power on Mon Oct 26, 2009 5:19 am

hi guys i should be the proud owner of a fiesta turbo sometime this or next month i was just wanting to run a few things by you lot to see what you think of the potential engine build ill do over in stages over time and get rolling road printouts of every mod a make :)

right here goes

Stage 1
t3 turbo coversion (garret stage 1 or 2 hybrid)
tubular exhaust manifold
front mount intercooler (airtec single pass)
stainless exhaust system if required

after them 3 mods ill take to the rollers and see what gains are made ill obviously have the car on the rollers when i get it to see what its running before i start modding.

Stage 2
big valve ported head
piper 285t cam and vernier
beige injectors
suitable chip or live mapped on the rolling road

Stage 3 (well down the line)
2.0 zvh conversion
uprated lsd gearbox
suitable chip

as stated these are only the mods ill of course uprate the brakes and suspension and also have it fully polybushed, i will not change the look of the car other than it being lowered as i think once you start taking the green stripes etc off the rs it looses its identity and wow factor.

any advice or pointers would be much appreciated

Don't bother with a 2.0 ZVH, just go for a full 16v Zetec, they don't cost as much as you think

It's not going to cost any more and you get a much better flowing head

Your ECU will run a full zetec until you get it mapped

You can gain even more with 16v
