rs1800 inlet - what goes where?

Postby ryan72 on Mon Apr 22, 2013 7:13 pm

Some of you might have seen this on other forums but I really need to find the right answer ..

RS1800 inlet manifold on a 1.8 zetec - going into a mk2 xr2

This is what I have so far;

1 - connect to 2 using rubber hose/pipe
2 - connects to 1 using rubber hose/pipe
3 - Brake servo (is xr2 one straight fit?)
4 - Fuel feed (assuming as it has some sort of adjuster on top of it)
5 - fuel return
6 - choice between - attach to a catch tank / blank off completely / connect to engine breather ???

is 4 and 5 correct??
Whats the correct answer for 6??

Thanks :D

1. goes to fuel purge valve thing, 2. goes to EGR valve if fitted (some had a bung). Doesn't matter which way around, both go to the same place.

3,4,5 as you said,

6. from factory had a rubber 90-degree pipe thing which ran down to the front of the engine to the crank case breather valve.

Thanks for the replies :D

I will check to see what is attached to the crank case breather. If I can, I will try to connect number 6 back upto the crank case breather.

Out of curiosity, would it do any harm if I was just to block up the breather on the manifold?

no harm, but make sure it is sealed tight, it is a vaccum line and if air is sucked in it will dilute the mixture too much air to fuel
