Does anyone know if the xr2i 16v 57i kit will fit & work correctly on the RS1800, as K&N dont list a 57i kit for the RS1800

I don't see why not, after all the xr2i 16v is just a de-tuned RS1800 engine so should be the same.

I believe the filter is a bit smaller on the xr2i but all in all it should work fine!

Really?! What a complete waste of time and energy designing a different filter for essentially the same car!

Many thanks for quick replies, what induction kits are people using on there RS1800's then. I rung K&N & they said the reason why they dont make 57i kit for the RS1800 is either that there was not enough call for them or they tried 1 & it made no power increase.....

I use a pipercross power sock. If they do one for the 2i 16v use that if you really need to get one, it's exactly the same fitment.

The code for the 57i kit for a xr2i 16v 1.8i is: 57-0156 and the code for the escort mk6 1.6 16v is : 57-0156 and the same code for the 1.8 16v escort and it's the same for the fiesta 1.6i 16v

Ramair are listing a kit for 1.6/1.8 16v escort & fiesta but dont state which exact models they fit. This is doin me head in all i want is an induction kit for my RS1800..................

On the RS1800 (and 2.0/1.8 MONDEO mafs ), the left side of the MAF is bigger than the 1.6/1.8 16v engines.

The KnN kit comes with a crossover pipe, the MAF end is the right size for 1.6/1.8 16v engines.

Too make it fit, heat up the end, lets say with some boiling water, and stretch it out by inserting a glass bottle around the same size as the MAF.

Let it set with glass bottle in there, then smash the bottle. Now attach pipe to MAF :)

Throttle body end is the same for 1.6/1.8/2.0.

Hope this helps.

THANKS VERY MUCH FOR LETTING ME NO ABOUT THIS ON THE 57I KIT. SO THE PIPERCROSS KIT THAT LISTS XR2I 16V & RS1800 AS SAME KIT SHOULD FIT AS YOU USE YOUR EXISTING CROSSOVER PIPE, CORRECT :-?

Is that what you are trying to say cause they are the same sensor! They use the same MAF.
