Hello strangers. Long time since ive been on here.

To begin with the good news, yes, I still have the car. Bad news is nothing more has changed to it.

Have moved house again, got a new roll at work meaning I travel further, in turn meaning less time.

And I have now got a broken collar bone from snowboarding.

On the plus side, means more tinker time finally with the RS.

I have only really seen it when we moved as so much going on. Couldn't vring myself to sell it so stashed it away.

Now tho, with a month or even two of bieng signed off, I shall hopefully see some enthusiasm to start the project again.

Just from mooching on here I am getting a little spark going for it again :)

Hopefully I will be producing some results In the not too distant future.

Ok people, its do or die time with this project. Atm I am torn between keeping it and sinking a bit of money into it to get it closer to running/actually start the blooming thing lol.

Or, strip it for bits, and make as mich as I can and either start a new project, or jack the whole lot in. With an impeding baby due the day before my birthday (19th October for anyone who wants to get me something lol) I have to make my mind up.

I have a clear weekend at this point in time, and will hopefully drag it out the garage to assess the damage for parts needed. Will be taking some pics so at least every one can see it still exists.

What are peoples opinions on my situation.
Obviously its my final decision, but wanna hear your views on it.

If you do break bud, I may well be interested in the rolling shell.

It would a shame to see it broken though seeing how close you are to finishing it.

After much deliberation, I have decided to keep the rs.

After chatting to ash aka rsonblackwheels and meeting the guys and girls who went to castle coombe again.

And especially after I saw how good they look on track

So as I have a few busy weekends ahead including rs national day and Ford fair

But will hopefully have a big push for a fire up during August, as I mentioned before, with the impending arrival of my first born in October, I really need to get this done before then. Will update once progress isstarted again, but might be a week or two.

Well after collecting the alternator and parts from George at ford fair, I left early to crack on with it.

So last night I managed to bolt the exhaust manifold on, fit the alternator, aux belt, pully, starter motor and wiring loom.

So all in all a productive evening.

Next issue is how to remove the throttle cable from the car. I uave disconnected it from both ends, but can't get it out from the bulk head. Any help welcome.

At this rate, I may start it this month. Fingers crossed

Glad this is progressing again now. I can't remember the specifics on the throttle cable but I remember it being a right pain to do, and that was without the engine in!

Well doesn't matter now lol, decided the supplied cable wouldn't work with the accelerator pedal, so cut the original one down and fitted that instead. Still gotta solder the little hammer on tho

Slowly getting there.

Also, work started on my drive today, and should be completed in about three weeks, and my ideal aim is for the rs to be the first car to drive on it :)

So got my work cut out, but giving myself this deadline so to speak, has given me the enthusiasm I so desperately needed.

Hello strangers. Yet again it has been far too long since i worked on the rs.

Since having rhe drive finished, I haven't touched the rs and its still in the garage complex across the road and around the corner from me.

Well not for much longer. Pumped 3 tyres up (as one still had air after all this time)

Found some tarpooling, so when either rsonblackwheels (aka ash) or his old man get home, operation 'rs in sight' is a go.

Got permission to have the car on the drive.

This helps three fold.
1. I see it every day and get more enthusiasm (plus electric and lights)
2. I have to park the st across the road and will get fed up with doing it so more enthusiasm to finish rs
3. The wife will nag more often when it goes a few days without any progress on it

Not sure how long it will be. But sooo hoping to fire it up this year, with nipper my time is short so no promises
