I would use the cams, throttle body and ecu from a 2.0L as they are cheaper to find.

Though only a couple of early 2.0L Mondeo ecus can be used on the Fiestas!

Hope this helps!

I think all Mondeo 2.0 ECUs have internal EDIS whereas your XR2i 16v almost definitely will use external EDIS, so you would need to use an early RS1800 ecu. I think the code is 2FDC, but hopefully someone will confirm that.

Don't use a 2.0l ecu on a 1.8l, the load calculations the ecu does will be all wrong.

When in open loop mode the ecu won't be calculating the right air fuel ratios.

ive got a mk1 2.0 in my rs1800. i spent hundreds trying to get a 2.0 ecu to work and taking it to tuners etc. basically theres no chance of running a 2.0 ecu on a rs1800 loom unless you change the loom to an Si one. rs1800 ecu are hard to find. you could have a look on ebay for rs1800 breaking.

Theres not much difference in the two ECU wise (RS1800 and XR2i 16v)

Do the following:

2.0 Cams
2.0 Throttle Body
2.0 MAF Sensor

Remove the EGR

At worst get a cat back exhaust - if you can get a decat too!

I spent ages researching this and messing about with various bits and bobs
