hi mate,
I looked into this, is that the Supercharger of a BMW mini? If so, they are not very well suited for larger engines.
And where are you planning on fitting it and running it? You have a direct path for the belt?
Thanks
Asad

I dont know exactly all details yet, but i have some solutions in my mind. I dont have direct path for the belt it must be custom built...

hemingway :It is taken from Mercedes engine and not from mini which use m45 unit. Comp. ratio will be 9:1 standard it is 10:1.
That unit cost me a 500 EURO and I order it from USA.
how do you intend on lowering the comp by the pistion or via a spacer plate
9:1 may seen abit high for some ppl but i think it will make a very quick car nice and responsive to drive
i really want to see the outcome of this
keep us posted

I had a look at the dimensions of the mercedes one too. Found it to be too large.
i was thinking about under the inlet manifold, but there is no direct path for the belt - the wing is in the way.
Was also thinking from the front but the exhaust manifold would get in the way.
The best solution I found was a Rotrex C60 supercharger. It would fit on the front and is small in size.
Would be interested in how you will mount it.

I will do my best to show you my progress. 9:1 is a bit a high compression but i will use colder denso iridium sparks and some retard ignition and i think that there will no be any problem with knocking.
I will lowering my comp ratio with forged ross pistons.
Last sumer I run 90Hp nitrous system on 10:1 compression ratio with standard motorcraft sparks with no problem and run 13.9 on 1/4 mile.

It looks like an excellent project but I have one question. If I'm not wrong that type of charger is bolted directly to the inlet manifold. If you do it so, where do you plan to use the intercooler??? I believe it will be of no use.
One thing I noticed is that the charger has a magnetic clutch on the pulley so you can use a two stage inyection maping and use the car all the time with the charger off and when you are in the mood or you feel you need the extra power you can switch it on. And if you feel you are Mr. Cosworth you can turbocharge and supercharge the car and use the superchager at low RPM's and a mean turbocharger for the upper RPM's. Take a look at the new engines VW are going to be selling in a near future, they are supercharged and turbocharged like some of the Group B Rally Cars.

this is no problem as a flange can be made to accept pipework for remote fitting

does a supercharger unit have its own oil supply, or is it like a turbo where it shares the engines oil? and are they intgrated into a custom inlet manifold.quite interesting this,i wonder if you could get one of those supercharger kits for the 2.0 focus on a 2.0 engined fiesta, they are quite costly for me

I do it that way like Ben_frst say. I do not built supercharger+turbo yet. Clutch is no in the game becouse i run diferent pulley like the original was so i remove the clutch.

my mini used to run a similar setup but using the m45 from the bmw mini, running a stage 4 head and straight cut gearbox on 10psi she did a 13.8 1/4 mile and made 152bhp on the rollers was very fun to drive to say the least
my old frst: 185bhp @11psi stage 1

Ah Mr hemmingway, Looks like your going to have yourself some serious power there, nice one.
Was also wondering how much it was you said, for you to build me one of those 4-2-1 manifolds if you can do it for £300 I will have one

I was going to say how you going to fit the charger but you beat me to it, Looks like you got the idea of fitting it from the V6 mondeo and Focus ST170 supercharger conversions.
Well done keep it up

i thought about doing this but it seemed too much work to get one to fit and run properly, [ERRR] you gotta get the gearing right too.
