mibby by 7 ish, Phil meant 7.99,which is slower than a FRST. But who knows, stick a set if 12" mini wheels on that baby and watch that 0-60 go!! pitty wee wheels look so stinky, would be good for acceleration

Hmmmm, picture it.... Syline GTR (max-modded to 500,000,000 BHP), shiney paintwork glistening in the sun, engine barbling away, blip the accelerator and it sounds like a family of bears have crawled under your bonnet... pull up at the lights next to some tasty girlies and lower the window to use your slimey tactics - they shriek, and begin to laugh uncontrollably at your 12" mini wheels    mibby not then eh? :D

Good point Phil, least you didn't claim 5 sec or summit

Today was my first day to get the chance to really kick the 1.6 Si a bit. Must say, I was quite dissapointed :( :( As you prob know, I've had some fairly fast cars, but I'm not compairing to them, I was trying to compare more with my experience of my Metro GTi. :( I think that Metro I ad when O was 18 would kick the Si's ass, without too much trouble at all :( :( :( . Ah well, there's always 2L conversion :)

Aiiiii those metro gti's are nippy. One of me mates had a gta i think and had it timed at 0-60 of 8.2 :D
Just outta interest, are the cranks on the 2.0 zetec and the rs1800 the same? does their stroke differ at all? AFAIK thats how they changed the capacity on the 1.6 and 1.8 cvh's as all the ancillaries in the bottom end's swap from block to block including the pistons which would indicate the bores are the same. Though i could just be talking utter poopoo.....

I've found this -

The Ford Zetec 2.0-liter DOHC I-4 engine 135 ft.-lbs. of torque at 4,500 rpm.

and this -

Focus Zetec 2.0 - Torque: 128lb ft.

and this -

Ford 2.0 liter Zetec 140lbs/ft @ 4,000rpm.

now for my next question

is 15 - 20 lbft of torque a notcible difference or is it hardly worth it?

I'd say 15-20 lbf.ft would be quite noticable. But there wont be much bhp dfference mind.
