hi all

ive managed to pick up a salvage rs1800
how much work is there involved in putting the engine in my 1.6si
i have read the threads on modeo 1.8 and 2'0 but just wondering if its diffrent for the rs1800 block

hi mate just had my converion done! you will need some parts off your the si thou! u need the wiring loom off the rs1800, the edis module, ecu and maf! its a straight in jobby really it uses the same part nums for most things and u dont need to fabricate mounts or anything pretty easy really

If you have an RS then I think the cheapest/easiest thing to do would be a complete loom change. Swop the RS car + engine loom into the Si. The reason I say do this is because you could use the Si's loom however you would need to search for a CULT ecu which are like rocking horse s**t and command top dollar. Therefore I'd swop the loom. If you plug any other 1800 130ps ecu into the Si engine loom it will not work and changes are it will blow the ecu as well.

is that the only option as i cant find any cult ecu anywhere, and not the best when it comes to wires??
