RS2000 engine transplant

A friend of mine has a MK6 RS2000 and the engine is on its way out, I was at a scrap yard today and noticed a Ford Scorpio Saloon
2.3 16V and the engine is the same as the RS 2000 I4 except larger capacity. Has anyone fitted one of these in a RS2000?

A mate did the conversion a few years ago. It is an easy conversion but not many people have done it. Used with the RS2k head it gives a healthy 170 bhp and much more tunability.

As the saying goes, "there's no replacement for displacement"!

I did notice that although the Scorpio engine is 2.3 it has less bhp than the 2.0 RS version, guessed it would be down to the head or cams.
