rst pistons

Problem or technical question?

hi all what is the limit on a standard rst piston ? ive had a few people say that they will do 300 bhp easily others that have said 240 bhp is there limit . i realisticly want around 250-270 bhp will they be fine for this ? cheers

I believe the con rods let go before the pistons at around 250 don't know about pistons as if your sticking in steel rods most people get pistons aswell lol

yea i was told 230 - 250 then the rods go . im only using the steel rods as they come up very cheap off a friend . i have been told about a rst that was running 350bhp on standard pistons with 1mm skimmed off

I wouldn't want to skim 1mm off the standard pistons.. I doubt they'll be strong and the compression youl loose? there already 8:0/1 I thought? so guna be laggy and poop to drive off boost.. seeing as you got the rods cheap get yaself on eBay and buy forged pistons, you really might aswell, and I definately hope your goin to be using arp bolts and a good headgasket!

arps are bought already and will be using a standard ford headgasket
