RST, XR2i, Si - SUSPENSION INTERCHANGEABLE???

Postby E4Fiesta on Tue Sep 11, 2007 7:25 pm

Hi just wanna know if the Rst, Xr2i suspension kits will fit the Si? because there's so many kits widelt available for the xr2i/rs and they all have anti-roll bar connections etc.

So they should be interchangeable right? can anyone confirm this? Thanks in advance! :D

All Mk3 Fiesta suspension is interchangable the only issues are when you start to bring the Mk3.5 into the mix as the front struts are of a larger diameter than the Mk3.

Yours being an Si may cause problems as most were Mk3.5 and I can't think of any companies that offer a quality kit. I would be inclined to change the hubs to Mk3 items and anything else required for the conversion to open the avenue to a whole host of decent kit.

Damn, is that so?

I thought id heard of a few people using the other suspension. and kits on ebay etc say from 89-95, so i expected all sizes were the same.... although some say (except rs & xr2i) but i presumed that was because of anti-roll links.

What about...

Bilstein Sprintline 35mm spring and damper kit for 1.4-1.8/XR2i year 01/94 - 12/95

Eibach Pro-Kit 30mm Springs 1.0, 1.1, 1.3, 1.4, 1.6 year 02/94 - 01/96

H&R do Sports Spring Kits so do Spax, Pi etc.

just go by KYB/Bilstein/Monroe/Gabriel Gas dampers or ones from ford to go with any of the Spring Kits

If you have a 93>97 L to P Reg Mk3 (classic shape) fiesta that came with oval side repeaters, filler cap flap & smaller type wing mirrors it will be a MK3.5 so should have MK3.5 Hubs, I say should because if you have a very early one it may have MK3 hubs!

So would rear suspension from a Si fit on the rear of a 1.1/1.3 Mk3.5 fiesta?

They must have the same hubs at the back.

Yes. Plus the standard Si setup is exactly the same as the RS1800.
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.
