Re: running temp
Fairly normal, most get that high. If you're worried fit an aftermarket one which shows actual temperature.
Bonnet down with a watercooled turbo and the narrower rad, a temp up at "n" is pretty normal. Especially in the hot weather as the fan is drawing in 30 degree heat which won't cool as well as 10 deg like in spring/autumn.
Things you can do to make it lower are:
- Fit lower temp opening thermostat which allows flow to rad earlier so you get longer before the whole coolant reaches peak heat
- Fit a more powerful fan, one which shifts more cfm of air. Arguments can be made that you want the air in there longer to allow more heat transfer but up to you to make your mind up on that.
- Fit heat wrap round downpipe
- Fit a heat shield between turbo and rad
- Fit heat resistant gaskets (Ferriday do some) between head and exhaust manifold to stop some of the heat transfer
But to be honest, in the current heat I would say this is "normal".
Cheers,
Si
