Awesome Russ, great to hear! I could only do so much at the time and it sounded like the injectors were clicking at the time, but obviously not  Glad you've got it sorted and glad it was something so simple in the end :)

thanks for all the support guys and advice its been a real help and kept me going with it :) and as always special thanks to simon for coming over on the cold days and rackin his brain for ideas

its all go now for saturday so hopefully by saturday eve i should have her at home and bathed and some pictures and videos :D cant wait!!
one thing i was bemused about: i went into ford today(well my mum did  ) and spoke to the manager about gettina gasket to go between the turbo and the zorst manifold and apparently they didnt do a gasket for it its just a face to face contact... sounded abit strange to me as it looks like it should have a gasket :-? just wondered if anyone could confirm this doesnt need a gasket or the ford bloke was chattin sh*t

either wway il try it without one even if it still blows im driving it home

most turbo flange - downpipes dont mate, we have many turbo examples at college that we strip and they dont have any either

i was also amased to see they use hex bolts, id have though they'd use something a bit more heat resistant myself

I'm sure older engines in later cars can pass the MOT, i.e. if the engine is pre August 1992, or something along those lines. You may need to prove it though...

i havent a clue on the subject to be honest with you mate but i know of a few people that know of a few mot people that are silly enough to put the emissions tester up the wrong car if u get my drift

so i dont think of it as a problem at the current moment

drove it home today :D
im never going naturally aspirated again  i love the boost and the noise is awesome :D

will try and get a few vids up of it on drive bys and tunnel runs

only a few problems that iv found so far 1: the speedo isnt working properly its jumping between 10mph and off the clock

any ideas on what this could be??
it used to bounce before but was only about 5mph max of a wobble, think im just going to get a few gearbox sensors from a scrappy and try them and if that doesnt remedie it then get a new cable

and 2: the car will charge the battery sometimes and then over times itl be flat as a pancake  im thinkin towards a combination of the battery has been run down over the conversion with the constant turning over and not actually being aloud to run properly and the connection where the cables from the alternator bolt to the starter motor looks a little minging so il have those off tomorow and give them a good wire brush before work and charge the battery up if i can find my charger

and then see what its like at holding its charge, the thing is it will sit idleing all day long and wont cut out bog down etc, and sometimes u twist the key and it starts straight up no probs and other times the battery is flat and it just ticks, if these two solutions dont solve it i shall get the current tested to make sure that the system is charging the battery and if so then shall just get a new battery

all in all a reallly good day for me and ican sit outside looking at my car now :D

hopefully i can wash it and sort the problems out within the week and post up a few pictures and maybe a video or two :D

 oh yes! iv been told to go easy in it as the cambelt hasnt been changed but i was goin round a roundabout and then realised there was a nice long tunnel on the left and couldnt ressist  ! flooored it tilll abwt 3.5k let off and the noise is amazing nice deep rumble all the way and then the wastegate chatter when you let of is really loud and clear :Q i love it  :D 8)

although i have found out that it likes to randomly everynow and then cut out when i come to stop lol, but if i dip the clutch and grab a gear before it dies its fine  silly thing not sure whats causing it tho :-? vac pipe leaking maybe?

im willign to bet your battery connections aint as tight as theyre meant to be, or alternator/start if that...

its really easy for the batteries connectors to be loose and be overlooked, you'd think they not havr to be 100% tight but, they do

the starter relies on all the charge it can get to just start spinning, thats when if you fail to give it enough juice, you get a fu*ck you, aka a click

another thing, when i put the 1.8 zetec in my mk4 fez, i used the same gearbox, but my speedo would bounce and only read half, i never found out why

Glad you're enjoying it Russ, I'll have to keep an ear out for you  I'm sure you'll sort the problems easily enough. Most CVH bits are pretty cheap second hand these days, so if you need anything it's not going to cost you the earth! :D
