Russ' mint green FRST , update :)
Re: Russ' mint green FRST
iv connected them up as they are shown but when i turn the key feels like the barrel has gone as there are no clicks as such when you turn the key just spins round freely so im going to take the black box off the back tomorow and put my key in that and find out if it starts then

Re: Russ' mint green FRST
i belive i got 3 on mine, but one could be fore a amp, i cant honestly remember.
the one with mutil wires (the 4 small one on 1 ring connecter) is what feeds ignition anyway, if yuor getting nothing, i would say you have left a earth off.
if you have had the barrle switch off at any point, did you plug it back on and connect it to the barrle ok?

Re: Russ' mint green FRST back on the road :D
i have sorted the problem
it was some how when i pushed the key into the barrel the blackbox on the back had come unclipped and as you push the key in the barrel the pin like bit comes out of the back off the barrel and is meant to engage into the black box but where the box wasn't clipped on properly it was just pushing the box away so it was turning the black box..... i hope this makes sense lol
so i just clipped on the black barrel properly turned the key and voila!! she's alive and kicking so chucked all my tools in and went for a drive it rides spot on on the coilovers but the thing is is that the rear drivers side is about 2 inches lower than the other side and yet its the rear near side that scrubs so i shall remove my tools and get it sitting at a nice and low height but where its still not scrubbing and im giving her a proper bath today and giving her some loving
i shall be taking some pictures and will wack them up on here

Re: Russ' mint green FRST
well iv kinda had a problem
i was driving about today when i noticed it wasnt boostin to the full 15 psi it normally does, at first it was about 11 but then it slowly went down to about 7psi if that and when i stopped and popped the bonnet there was a abit of oil on the bonnet underneath and the top boost hose had a big slit in it and was covered in oil i have since looked in the hose and saw it had a fair amount of oil in it aswell as the crossover pipe had a fair puddle in it
i fixed the hose so it didnt leak and it seemed to boost okay soo im not sure on what to do???? it runs perfectly fine and boosts fine now but why would there be oil in the inlet????
any possible causes there could be to this

yeah its just the T2 at the minute yeah i was thinking about going for the T3 now but i havent really got the money and cant really afford to have my car off the road long enouogh to change over all the oil feed/return and get a custom downpipe and sort out the boost hoses... etc
just really want another T2 for the minute as i want my boost back and its boring without it

Re: Russ' mint green FRST UH-OHH :(
i no u said the boost pipe split but was there any smoke coming out the exhaust as in buring oil smoke before it completly lost boost??
was the oil cleanish in the pipe? if the turbo seals have gone surely it would smoke like fcuk even if on the inlet side of things?

this is what i thought but it drives so smoothly as if there was nothing wrong with it... i check my oil everyday and its never moved, and it doesnt smoke one bit !
im really unsure :/ but it doesnt hold boost properly so it must be something wrong with the turbo

Re: Russ' mint green FRST UH-OHH :(
how did u fix the hose m8? did u put a new 1 on there or?
reckon u probably got an air leak somewhere when its bein put under pressure
also take the inlet pipe from air filter to turbo off and have a look in where the fins for the comp wheel is
if u got oil there then the seals are prob gone
