Russ' mint green FRST , update :)
Re: Russ' mint green FRST UH-OHH :(
thb dont reli no m8, but i no some times they get gunked up (as do the iscv and inlets) gota come from somewhere,
some of my hoses had some oil stuff in em when i got it but there nothing wrong with that turbo,
maybe a previous turbo let go on yours and left oil in the intercooler? and now your boosting quite high its moved it???
if it was loosing alot of oil on the inlet side it would smoke quite a bit and alot worse it it was exhaust side of the turbo

Re: Russ' mint green FRST UH-OHH :(
sound sliek a seal has gone int he turbo then, likely an oil seal if its leaking into the induction pipes, only thing i can suggest is to remove the turbo and strip it and check it over, have some new gaskets and seals at hand to replace the old ones

Re: Russ' mint green FRST UH-OHH :(
but the point is my oil level hasnt moved a mm it isnt using any oil and if the oil seals had gone it would be puttin oil into either the exhaust or sending it up into the inlet either way i would be burning/loosin oil which would cause my oil level to reduce and my car to smoke, neither of which i have

phew, thats goo news, mate you wont beleive how many cars and engines get slated or blamed for a simple slit hose, they cause irratic idling, cuting out and liek yours boosting issues
then your always happy when you find out as its a cheap fix, but anoyed at the same time its gone on so long

Re: Russ' mint green FRST UH-OHH :(
right well changed over the wishbones and gearbox mounts today didnt bother with pictures because everyone that has a mk3 fiesta has done wishbones and gearbox mounts
encountered 2 problems afterwards tho
1. my car is too low for my mates drive so as i reversed off it caught the exhaust clamp in the midsection and has pushed a joint up near the turbo or something as i now have a clear exhaust blow from up near there buugger
2. my oil return has decided that the new gaskett i put on it about 3 weeks ago wasnt good enough and has spat its dummy out so a new one has been ordered tonyt
boost hose issue still isn't solved but i think frstoady is sorting something out for me if he still has both his hands
nice one mate

you should focus on the rear arb more, FWD cars need them more than the front arb

Re: Russ' mint green FRST UH-OHH :(
no jony i know what im doing dont come on my thread tryin to tell me what to do
funnily enough a arb thats not got droplinks on it but is sat cable tied into the engine bay i would say is more worth gettin sorted than a arb that is sitting off the car and it has made a hell off a difference actually and surely the more grip up front the better as its FWD it has to do the turning and supply the power so the better the traction the better so a front ARB is much more use than a rear one...
and i dont know how cold it was down here but my mates pond was starting to freeze over so i doubt it was that warm

Re: Russ' mint green FRST UH-OHH :(
I'm not so sure, Russ... I look at them, and just can't help but think they're off another car (which obviously, they are ).
I think because the colour of your car stands out so much, a simpler wheel would work well, like Comp MOs, or Cosworth 3 door wheels... I appreciate your issues you have with rubbing, though, so finding a good wheel that fits perfectly might be a bit of a challenge! I just don't think the Saxo wheels work

They look different! Not sure if its good or bad though lol... I think something shouts chive about them, as I think of saxo as a chive wagon, but thats just me
But, they are different, and if you like them, keep them!

thats fair enough everyone has there own opinions for em but il let you see them in the flesh they look much better the fact they stick out the extra 20mm all round they just fill the arches and i can still go well low on them i personally really like them

So have you lost your job then? or you gonna lose it cos you cant get there? cant you just buy a cheap run around to get you to work? seems a bit harsh but I dont know the circumstances behind it all
Good luck with it all though
