Re: Russ' mint green FRST
not that any one is reading this as this forum seem's to be dead these days... but anyone might aswell update this with what iv been doing
then about 3 days later i thought i would give it a good clean, just removed the sealent off of it and it started to piss it down so didnt finish it and didnt get any pictures but i did get a snap of the beading which was quite cool considering all i had done was wash it and seal it..
well not sure whether to paint the front bumper yet or not as i am getting a FMIC at some point soon so i might need to trim the front bumper a little so not sure if to wait till i have done this to paint it or just do it and cross that bridge when i get there
next plans are:
cambelt and water pump(which iv had sitting around for about 4 months )
green samco water hoses
HT lead holder
good service, oil,oil filter, plugs, leads and clean all the sensors
and maybe a 165 super chip
also what are people opinion's on what grade of oil to run a rs turbo engine on as i have heard so many different opinions, thought it would be an idea to find out what other RS owners run theres on..

I know our book at work used to say 5w40 fully synthetic, which is about as good as you need on yours to be honest!

Nice one mate, I will be in Tuesday (payday) to get stuff for a service so might see ya then don't suppose you know best place to get a magnetic sump plug do ya? Think getting one might be a good idea
And yeah it came out ok, everyone at my work thinks I got it done at a body shop, not bad for rattle cans in the back garden aye! just needs a good polish but the weather has been crap

Yeah it is. Is one of the reasons why i love this so much when I get round to detailing it I will try and find a decent camera and get some pics as my iPhone 4 doesn't do it justice

Bumper looks like a good finish and colour match.
A fresh rear plate would tidy up that rear end nicely.

Well seeing as the weather was good yesterday and I had all the stuff I thought I'd crack on with my painting, the paint came out really well but the bumper had so many deep stone Chips and cracks etc. J couldn't sort them all out as I had no filler, but hey it looks loads better now it's all one colour
Will get some better pictures soon

Well yes and no I popped home and found my old rubber brake pipe but when I went to change them I tried undoing the braided hoses from the copper brake pipe and it turned the pipe and ripped the pipe in half so got to try and get one made up now not happy

Re: Russ' mint green FRST--UPDATE
Cheers for the comments guys means alot didn't get to wash the car before USC so made no pictures but made the 360 mile trip easily even got 1 trip up the strip but majorly f**cked the launch up almost stalling it and ran a 17 (my first time up the strip btw) but once I was moving the escort RS I was against didn't pull on me and that ran a 14.3 so I will be aiming for that time next time, but after this my rad wanted to start leaking again and wasn't allowed back up the strip but apart from that the car was great, no progress to report as I'm trying to sort my life out
