S1's RS500
Re: Empty garage space...
Been a busy boy today, started to prep the cage. Degreased it, key it with 60grit emery cloth and primed with a high-build primer/filler. Got most of it done, still need to prime the main hoop but should get most of it topcoated tomorrow.
Max, no it won't be red, it's gonna be matt black

I like your idea Andy. and in that case yes i'd have the cage, i guess you could always strap the kids to the cross bars of the cage.
Would be fun explaining it if you got pulled over
"yes they are safe, its a rollcage, it strengthens the car. How could they possibly get hurt and how is protecting them this much illegal"

Got the remainder primed and some of it prepped & topcoated. Very pleased with the results regardless of it being done with rattle cans it's come out really well!
Just the main hoop left to topcoat now.

Cage is now fitted, really pleased with it on the whole although If I did it again I would get it painted professionally as it chips quite easily as it is.
I think it really suits the car, adds to the mean look!

Eww, the red seats look awful! I've always wanted the black leather tbh. Ever since I saw yours & my other mates UG with the black I've known it's the future.

Didn't realise it was from North Yorks, I'd have fetched it you down (or taken you last leg if you'd train'd it up).
EDIT : Nice to see a lack of negativity (so far) on PF.

That looks quite at home in there!
I assume if you wanted to, you could just unbolt the cross-section bit if you did need to use the back seats?
Nice job, though

Re: Empty garage space...
I forgot to update this
On Tuesday I went to Mountune for my MR375 and four new Michelin Pilot Super Sports to be fitted. As mine was already MP350-Spec with a Milltek system all I needed was the inlet plenum, 3-inch downpipe, sportcat, bypass valve & ecu calibration. It took a good 4 hours for the conversion as they like take their time at Mountune.
When it was done, Scott, the manager came out and said they had test driven it and it "was a little lively" on the new Michelins and to take it easy. I drove it & thought they should have tried it with the old Contis on if they think this was lively . I should have sorted the tyres ages ago as they've transformed the car, it's so much more stable and jeez can they put the power down!
The MR375 is everything I hoped it would be, the mid-range pickup is phenomenal and it just keeps pulling to the line. The noise is summat else, loads of pops & bangs plus a mighty roar when the it's on full boost. I love it!

Re: S1's RS500
Not had to update this as it's pretty much remained the same apart from fitting a Scanguage.
Getting bored with the MR375 now so looking at some options, will be speaking to Jason at JWR about about one of his 120 or higher conversions, thinking possibly hybrid turbo and manifold
