Re: Empty garage space...
Its all about the M3 being better tbh It is an amazing all round car, and seriously there is not much to keep up with it point to point. And much as I hate to say it: RWD
Greg has the bigger penis though, the M3 aint mine!

You do say such sweet things
Having had some experience of challenging a V8 M3 (a good mate has one) it is very close. But from a rolling start the M3 does struggle to keep up, then it gathers pace. Forced induction does have its good points
The Focus is rubbish 0-60 and i will happily admit that. But im not into 1/4 mile or 0-60 times anyway

Absolutly true Paul. I do not understand for a second why anyone would want a M3 over a Saph! They are the definition of high class motoring!

They're both slow though, because they're new. Everything new is slow, old stuff is a squillion times better, less power and slower, but still better and faster. But the Focus is still better than the M3, because it's Ford and the M3 is German, British always wins, well, American, but you know what I'm saying, I hope so, because I don't. The older the faster. FACT.
No but seriously, nice car Paul, I like it.

Utter bollox ..... old = old ..... end of! Sloppy gearboxes, rubbish suspension, dodgy brakes and all or nothing control of the booooooooooost. Modern day cars are more refined, more toys, better handling, better brakes and superior engine management.
Arguement won!
WOW ....... is that the PF effect?

Its true that newer cars are better in near enough everyway, but old stuff defo has its charms. Stuff like mk1 and 2 escorts, e30 BMWs, Golfs etc, all float my boat.

True dat. That's why I have a Mk1 golf parked next to a Focus. I love older stuff but am under no illusion how they perform compared to newer stuff.

Back on topic, no more M3 versus RS on this thread please!
Car is booked in with Mountune next Thursday for a Clubsport suspension setup. Also arranged for an MR375 for the end of April. I would have had both done at the same time but the black manifolds are on back order

The suspension is a fixed height spring & shock but they also set up the suspension to their settings they developed. The dampers are much firmer, the springs are lowered. I could go for coilovers for a few hundred more but then I'd have to play around with ride height, damping etc. I'd rather run a developed package tbh.
Even with the H&R's the handling is not perfect, it's lower and the spring rates are higher but the dampers are too soft. I want to get it sorted before going for the MR375/385 which should be done before FITP

There's a quantum thread knocking around on the forums (member gallery I think), mentions a company called center of gravity (or similar) who do suspension tuning including balance, damping rates and ride height, taking driver weight into consideration. May be of interest to you...?

I would have really liked to go for the Mountune Clubsport package, but they have limited the numbers to 50 sets
I believe there is only a few left.
What i want to know is, given a few years how the heck do you get replacement parts?
Im definitely going to go for a non-coilover setup

same as with any other kudos limited edition mega part - you snap up anything that's broken up whilst "new" then either tighten the ball-screws in 10 years on ebay or buy into a remanufacture using your original spare part as leverage for a share in the profits
i refer you to caprisport

So there I was, sat in the waiting room at Mountune.
There's lots of nice bits in the waiting room at Mountune.
I saw these.
Here it is again, only at my home.
I also bought a full set of black wheel nuts & locks and a full mat set including boot carpet
Oh and PF Dave recognised my name and came out to say hello, I then got invited to the Mountune session at Bedford on the bank holiday Monday after FITP

No way! I didn't realise that
Suspension feels better, damping is much improved, ride is firmer and less crashier. I've not had a chance to really test it out but I think torque steer is reduced to a more manageable level.

More importantly, the only way that chair could contrive to be even less comfortable is by having a 10" barbed spike sticking up out of the seat.
Love the wheels, btw.

Only a subtle change but I think it will make a difference.
Apparently mine is only the second RS500 to have the clubsport suspension fitted, the other one was a Spanish car so mine is the only UK 500. Along with all the other mods it should have the RS w@nkers spitting feathers
