Sale of the Century - part deux

Postby JJ on Tue Mar 02, 2004 12:08 am

Well, after a l-o-n-g time in storage, the Fiesta finally emerged from the lockup this weekend, and after a little coaxing, started up and ran beautifully! :o

It's been collected by a friend who is giving it a health-check/once over and fixing any little mechanical bits. It really is a bargain project car for someone.....

£3k ovno secures it....

Cannot believe this car has not been snapped up by someone yet.

Well worth £3000 in my opinion.

This was my modding inspiration when I first got a Fiesta.

Good luck with the sale James, hope it goes to a deserving and good home.

It might just have to make a re-appearance for a brief time....but I fear everyone is too wrapped up in (insert ghey rap term)-(insert ghey rap term)/Jap-style motas right now to notice a subtle, smooth, dare I say tasteful (no Jag X-type bonnet/headlights here!) Fiesta turbo....old skool rulez!!

See http://www.fiestaturbo.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=67215&highlight=sale+century for all the details. It's a great runner and only needs very minor work to tidy up/finish. The car will be available to collect from either Essex or Kent (depending where it's stored!).

Thanks for the replies....and glad to hear it inspired a few of you! To think it was the first Mk3 in the country with a Mk4 boot & interior and that was over 4 years ago!

Superal - have PM'd you! Also, see the other post (link above). It's not desparate for a respray, but it'd benefit from one to keep it looking A1 (as a result of the recent leading work). And at present there's no front bumper. I do however have Zetec front/rear bumpers in the garage (not Zetec-S tho).

Well, all the mods were done at the same time, so I don't really have a cost for 'just the handles'. Suffice to say they made fitting a Mk4 boot look easy in comparison! You need to cut a large rectangular section out of the door, weld the new panels in, then fill (I had my leaded for strength), fettle and spray. Oh, and then get the mechanism to work!

My welder thought I was mad when I asked him to cut the indicators out and weld in Mk4 sunk-in indicators!!

The devil's in the detail! :bonkers:
