a 3.5" zorst tip is 0.5 times smaller than a 4" zorst tip. there is no performance difference, its just comes down to personal taste.
how do i know its louder??...... err.... i've heard both.

Ok wicked! cheers. Would the same apply to a Fiesta Si? Would the scorpian still sound louder on the zetec than the magnex?

I got a scorpion s/s system on my Si, I had the centre box chopped out and replaced with a straight pipe and the system shortened by an inch or two so that it didnt stick out so far anymore. It is a lot louder now, it has more of an idling noise and it is a lot less restrictive. I got it modified at longlife and told them what I wanted it to sound like. It sounds loads better now and doesnt stick so far out, it is only really loud when you give it some!

What is the centre box? and where is it located? like what Lee said, he chopped out the centre box tobe replaced in with extra piping to make it sound louder and go faster?

Centre box is underneath the car and approx in the centre of the zorst in terms of length.
wots the fascination of making it sounder louder? as for makin it go faster the only sure way is to mod the engine rather than play with ur zorst.

I didnt chop it out to make it really loud or anything, I just did it because mine was not much louder than standard. Its now a lot louder than before but not excessive. A few people off here have heard it and should say it sounds good. If you go too loud it looses its nice tone and just gets raspy. Mines just a clean noise with a burble when the revs come back down.
If I had a 'proper' engine in my Si I wouldn't care about the loudness of the exaust, I'd just care about the engine noise.

£70 from longlife for having the bit cut out, replaced with a new piece of pipe, repositioned whole exhaust and welded it back on. They asked how much louder do you want it, where do you want the exhaust to sit, what tone do you want etc and then just did it. Sounds a load better now.
As soon as I have my 2 litre in I'm gonna get a new system built by them but that will cost a lot more!

scorpion are bit restrictuve on a FRST but not too sure on an SI
I have a powerflow on my si and its pretty good. Bit too loud for me
but be reyt
No silencer, no nothing, centre pipe that splits into 2 exits.
Do loud exhaust produce the "popping" noise better? lol cos my quiet mongoose hardly popped but this one burbles sweetly.
Im bagging a much quieter exhauts when i get my next car tho, get on yer funlumps after a bit, plus it makes ppl loook at ya =/ boy racer =/
