Screamer pipes + problems with mapping?!

Postby joey-p on Mon Jul 14, 2008 1:23 am

i have just fitted a gt28 turbo to my focus rs powerd ka, i have made a down pipe with flange to seprate the main pipe and the wastgate exit, so i have a screamer pipe.. i know alot of people love them, and a lot of people hate them, but regardless of that... will it cause starnge/ incorrenct readings on wide band lambder?? i have heard( after fitting the down pipe) that it can show then engine running leaner than what it realy is..

at lower boost sites the wastgate will be closed, so this wont be a problem. on full chat, wasgate opening but there will be so much gas going down it, surly no oxagen can get up and back down the main down pipe.

anyone ??
