See if anyone can help on this......

CVH and Zetec tuning, suspension and braking mods.

I've gotta 89 1600s with a very wierd problem.

Dont matter if its hot or cold if I give it a serious bit of boot, when it comes to idel it sounds like its miss-firing and idels at about 400rpm! When I put my foot down it feels like the power is non existant, then when it its 3000rpm the revs drop to 1750-2000rpm then slowly rise back to 3000. then th same thing happens again!!! To cure this prob, i have to turn the engine off for about 10 seconds, swich back on again and its sorted, but it only happens if i give it a bit of boot.
The only mods are a full janspeed.

Anyone one able to help?

Sounds to me like your autochoke's sticky, too.

Whip it off the car and inspect the metal coil for corrosion and other crap.
