shocks and springs

a set of four 60mm lowering springs is gonna cost 80 quid... would the springs on my shocks kill them? or should i do all of it at once?
(shock and springs). AND does any where know where i could get just the back springs from? as i was going to slam it 60 at the back 40 on the front try to level it out a bit.... :-?
