im on the same boat as your self but im probably goin to drop in an si16v lump.
as for the 1.4 peco bake a back box/ system or you can get one made to spec from various places. ive got a universal cone on mine, 80mm neck.
as far as i know you cannot get a proper induction kit fo this car.

Dont know about the airfilter, as i cant remember what engines the 1.4 have!! But even though most places dont list them, it doesnt mean that they arent made for them!! Ring around.
ON the exhaust, try speaking to longlife for a custom built exhaust!! Or mongoose, scorpion or magnex for ready made ones!!
These will give you a nice bit of acceleration

The 1.4 Sis have a PTE engine, which is basically a CVH with slightly revised management. I assume you could follow the normal CVH tuning route such as cams, chip, larger capacity etc. I think an XR2i 1.6 8v would go in aswell, although your insurance company won't look kindly on that.
If you want to go Zetec you'll need new mounts for a start and the engine management is totally different.
Exhausts, I remember Bridger having difficulty finding an off-the-shelf one for his 1.4, I think only Janspeed make one. Probably better off getting a custom one like TJ suggested at a place like Longlife or Powerflow.
If any of that is wrong im sorry, just thought I'd add my thoughts
