SI 1.6 tunning
i've heard that you can't do anything to make a SI 1.6 faster, is this true?

Filter, zorst, chip, will free up a little more power.
You can tune them, but you wont get big power from them.
If its big power then the most ocnomical way is a 2 litre conversion.
But at the mo, the filter and exhaust on mine is good enough for me.
Its more responsive, and a little more powerful!
Go for that first mate!

you can tune them up a bit!
you would have to go
filter, exhaust, throttle body ( from a 1.8 or 2.0 ),cams, chip and anything else would just be a bonus!!!
thats about all you can do and it can be quite expensive!!!
if you were lucky with all that done you would be touching on standard 2.0 power!!

i went the silly option and bought a RS1800 TD, full S S exhaust (can be used for 2.0l conversion ), chip & filter etc
I noticed i had improved the drive & smoothness a bit on speed and pull, but for what a spent i should of gone 2.0L

lowering kits startfrom about £200 plus fitting. 17's will be a mare if you want to go low. 16's are bad enough!
You will need arches rolled, bumpers trimmed and you'll still have to get an angle grinder out after that if your car is low, trust me I know!
You also need to ensure wheel offset is spot on other wise the tyres can rub on the shocks. It will also rub on full lock!

Yeah thats about right!
Any prices you see in magazines for lowernig and wheels are pretty much what you'll get em for.
Have a word with Jay from X factor motorsport (contact details on advertising on here) about ordering stuff, as his service level and prices, are second to none, and also he's a great guy.
