si 16v turbo conversion

hey, im sure this has prob been asked before but i cant find were so... is it possible and how much would it cost to turbo my 1.6 16v si mk3, i dont want anything crazy as i want to chip it, induction kit etc aswell.

It is possible, but it's cheaper to drop a FRST engine in. There's plenty of info on turbo'ing the 2.0l zetec which you could use to give you an idea of what would be involved for the 1.6l.

But then if you're spending the money slapping a dirty great turbo on the 1.6, you may as well spend an extra £200 to buy the 2.0l engine....

Sorry mate but as above. The 1.6 Zetec found in these cars is pants from a tuning point of view. Just dropping a 2.0 in the bay will give a huge improvement and will be cheaper and quite possibly more effective. Also have scope later to turbo that :wink:
