si help

just wondering if there's any simple diy jobs that can be done on my mk3.5 si engine to try and find any more bhp :)

all that i can say is that if you have a standard airbox, drill some holes in the front of it, probably wont do much, or just get a universal induction kit 8) also decat that will release a few more horse 8)

Drill the airbox and throw a back box on but stop there. You just can't extract any power from this engine. You'd get more success trying to tune your mums toaster

theres a tubular manifold on ebay at the mo search for 1.6 zetec engine its black and adds 10 bhp and then unless you want to but a 1.8 head on it dont bother

would drilling the airbox really make much of a difference? i really cud do with a bit more bhp, but i have no money s so im looking for simple diy jobs!

So you have a si and want more power but have no money :lol: I wouldn't bother just save your cash up till your insurance come's down then you can buy a car with the power As Oranoco said you would be better off with a toaster

On the engine in the Zetec S it may do but not on the nail of a Zetec that's in the Si. You could spend a grand on the engine and still only gain about 10bhp

the 1.8 head wont fit to a 1.6 SI, different something, dont know what but wont fit

As said, you wont get anything more out of the 1.6 no matter what you try. Your best off dropping a 2.0l in there :wink:

yeah as said 2.0ltr then cams and throttle bodies for about 180bhp
