si vs 1.1
bloomin fookette just spent a year on and off buildin ma 1.1 mk3.5 into a nice lookin si replica wi a few (ok a lot) of extra bits , just done an insurance quote for it and its £540 f/c which i thought was pretty resonable seein as how i aint passed my test yet and it ll be my first insuance , thought i might as well do a quote on a 1600 si and now i wish i hadn t bloomin £623 f/c thats it i have decided im sellin the 1100 and gettin a si why mess about wi "wind up windows, manual locking,no arb, crap brakes,oh and no power " when i could have an electric pack si wi reasonable brakes a tarmac munchin 90ps and decent bumpers as standard , just makes sense to buy an si really
anyone wanna buy a mk3.5 classic

Make sure you have a refrence number as if you don't and you sell the 1.1 and find out it's gonna be actually lots more for the Si then you are going to be up a certain creek with no paddle

Yer, that makes 2 of us
My "Classic" is virtually a rust-free shell - currently a 1.3 - but prob a Zetec in a few years when insurance comes back down from the high sky...
Do not underestimate the power of a 1.3 - It's low enough already

first insurance
well i just insured myself on my dads car to learn to drive as the fiesta has no tax or test and it cost me £456f/c under my own name with my dad as a named driver so he can take me out ,nearly dropped because his car is a 96 astra 2.0 16v sport and i hope 154 BHP is as quick in a fez [ERRR] the astra is well quick and looks like a base astra wi colour coded bumpers SLEEPER scared the crap out of the local saxo/corsa/rover/punto chives might as well make the most of the power as ill be back to my 1100 fez when i pass

quotes
the fiesta quotes are from norich union direct , but if your under 21 you will get stupid quotes but if you are over 21 they are superb , i also live in a very high risk postcode , the thing with norich union direct is that i have held my provisional since i was 16 and been on the road with a 125 since i was 17 and a year on a
ped when i was 16 and im now 22 so they take that into account and i also have 4 years n/c/b on my bike , which doesn t go towards the car policy but again it just means they no that i have been on the road for 6 years without any claims or total losses, anyway if you are over 21 try them, and if you are under 21 try high performance (just dont crash with high performance cause they are terrible in the event of a claim)

I am 21 tomorrow (19th) I appreciare the advise.
The best quote I have had so far is around the £1100 mark from allan & allan, but I will keep trying other companies.
Kind Regards

insurance
you will be lucky if you get a better quote from high performance than you got from allan and allan as they are the same company and allan and allan tend to be slightly cheaper as they dont advertise in the likes of max poo-er and fast crap magazines , less overheads mean cheaper (slightly) policys for us

They never put the redtop lump in a astra sport only the GSI your dads motor as quick as they are is only 129 bhp. Good cars though.
