Postby MK4 Rick on Sun Jul 16, 2006 10:12 pm

got offered a zetec engine 2litre zetec E.if i had this engine i would convert it into a zvh.but my question is can i skim the 2 litre pistons.some people say u can some say u cant.does anybody no for a fact it can be done.if so how much can i take off the tops off them.my other concern is some people say you can just bolt the zetec bottom to the cvh head with out dropping compression and run 1bar boost how true is this.i dont want to spend all my money on the engine and it blows up .can anybody help and give me some facts.[ERRR] at the moment ive got parts for a zetec turbo parts for the zvh etc.but i want to build the zvh.any help and info would be grate Rick :)

Skim them by 40thou and you will get a 8.2:1 compresion but dont run any more than 1bar of boost

For the 2 litre you have to either get a comp plate, skim the piston 50 thou???? i think or buy low comp pistons or search for a set of calibra pistons/celica gt4.
Note if you skim the piston i don't think you can run any more than 14-15psi.
