im after turbo charging my 2 litre zetec e engine on budget.can i skimm the piston crowns ?if so by how much?and what sort of low compression would i get.

Very bad idea skimming the piston crown on the 2.0 Zetec's you can get away with it on the 1.8 though. If you are going to go Zetec Turbo route do it right and be under no illusions that it will be expensive. Most people who decide toi go that route abandon th eproject as they didn't cost up everything and the projects are broken long before hitting the road.

Those that do complete though know how amasing they are and that they were worth all the cash :Q

Second hand pistons imho aren't worth their scrap metal weigh in value. You just don't know what condition they are in or what they have been subjected to. Budget on about £100 per piston and then whatever else fro the rings gudgeon pins etc.
