*SOLD* Mk2 Mondeo 99 2.0 Zetec Hatchback
1999 V reg Mk2 Mondeo, 2.0 16v blacktop zetec (petrol) hatchback, panther black, MOT December 2013, Tax October 13, Full service history.
Factory equipment, PAS, RCL, aircon, EW, EM, Ford CD player, rear disks, ABS, TCS, 16" Zetec 5-spoke alloys, both screens heated, elec drivers seat, front fogs, mesh grill, boot spoiler, front and rear courtesy lights, rev counter, locking wheelnuts, 3 rear headrests, colour coded heated mirrors, airbag, side impact bars, 3 button key, adjustable headlamp levelling, grey cloth interior, silver upper dash panel.
I have owned the car for 3 years, and it was in the family before that for 5 years. It still has the original handbook, spare key, and all receipts. We had the car HPI checked approx 8 years ago and it was clear, it has never had a prang.
Last year it had a brand new gearbox and clutch (costing £700), a new aircon condensor and new seals throughout the aircon system and a re-gas - so the aircon blows ice cold, and it had new front wishbones, a spring on the front, new front droplinks, new pads all round, new cambelt/waterpump/thermostat/coolant (this was done at local Ford dealership at cost of £350), new PAS cooler, new coilpack, brand new genuine ford rear bumper with factory paintjob (in mint condition), 3 new Uniroyal rainexpert tyres 205/55/16 fitted at Ford dealership (the other tyre has about 4mm of tread), full 4 wheel alignment, all new brake lines under the car, all bulbs have been replaced, and much more.
The Handbrake works perfectly, clutch feels beautiful, the car drives flawlessly smooth with no misfires. It will still do 500 miles to a tank (which works out at 38MPG) and still feels as quick as a new motor.
The mileage is 214,000 but it runs perfectly because the car has always been meticulously maintained. I have changed the oil and filter every 10k miles using fully synthetic oil. It has never overheated and maintains perfect temperature. The fan kicks in as it should. I do 100 miles a day in this car and it never misses a beat. Handling and grip is excellent. There are no fluid leaks, and no water leaks into the cabin or boot. The headlight alignment was adjusted at the last MOT, and it had a new rear brakepipe.
I always change the air filter, plugs, leads, coilpack, fuel filter and pollen filter every year.
Minor Modifications:
300mm mk3 front brakes, granada (thicker) rear drop links with polybushes, rear ARB polybushes, aero wipers, Ghia maplight, meshed lower front grill, crystal clear side repeaters, philips vision plus 55W bulbs in the headlights, and 100W Ring bulbs in the front foglights.
Faults - the remote central locking will unlock but not lock (so you have to lock it with the key), the rear squirter does not work (not needed on a hatchback anyway really), otherwise EVERYTHING else works fine. The rear arches have minor rust, and the front bumper was renewed last year but some of the paint is flaking off (thanks to a dodgy ebay seller). There are a few minor scratches and dings around the car, as you'd expect from a car of this age.
Why buy a mk3 for under a grand when there is so much to go wrong with them compared to a mk2! This is not the usual neglected rubbish which somebody has run into the ground.
I can throw in some spare parts for free (such as headlights, the original brake calipers/pads/disks, fan etc) if the buyer wants.
More photo's to be added shortly.
Location is Sutton Bridge (Lincolnshire).
