hey all,

im a new member, ive just bought an G reg XR2i 1.6.. pretty tidy for age! just added a k&n induction kit.. sounds nice!

my main question (sorry if this has already been asked) .. how hard is it to bolt on a turbo to the standard 1.6 engine? or am i just being silly.. is it even possible or will i need to harden everything??

i was thinkin of just picking up a second hand xr2i turbo and somehow shove it on! ahem..

well.. any advice would be cool, can anyone reccomend what else i could get to make my motor abit quicker? ..

thanks all

Your best off with a complete rst engine as lots of diffeetn internals. But if you keep the 2i engine then head, cam, carbs, zvh and more should see a huge power hike, but depends on your budget, as that lot comes to a couple of grand runing properly. :D

Well explained mate, also the compression is lower in a turbo engine, so the 2i engine would have to be rebuilt anyway
