i changed the plugs in my dads fiesta rs1800 its got a 2.0 zetec in i got the correct ngk platnium plugs for it.i changed them and started up and it had a bad miss fire took plugs back out and they was already soted up why is this,what plugs do some of you use

Are you sure the HT leads were refitted correctly and not arcing, or you might if damaged one when removing it.

right its had another set of ngk platnium plugs new ht leads ive listened 2 the injectors and number 4 sounded funny so changed that it had a new fuel filter fitted b4 it started 2 misfire any ideas???

when you removed them initially did you manage to crack a spark plug or something. as tiny pieces of ceramic could have fallen in and damaged something internally. although this is a worst case scenario and odds are on that it wont be because it probably wouldnt run.

try replacing the coil pack

but its sparking fine nice good continuous spark its getting fuel checking the timing 2nite and the crankshaft position sensor

when was the new fuel pump fitted, i had an engine do this to me and it was shortly after a new fuel pump was fitted, turned out that in fitting it the rubber bit that it sits in had perished and split, and was causing the fuel pressure to be right down and it ran like s**t.

didn't check pump till last as it ran fine for 2 days before it happened, just old rubber though which was the prob
