speaker cable
When fitting my 6x9's on parcel shelf i ad to get more speaker cable as the other wernt long enough but i ad to strip ends and twist them together then wrapped them in insulation tape,
can this cause a fire?

Providing it's insulated no but it's a complete bodge it way of wiring them up. You ideally want to run the speaker cable direct from the headunit or amplifier to the speaker with no joints. If you need to joint the wire you should solder and heatshrink your join.

Not very helpful there.
Also 6x9s may not be the best speakers but are good for a budget setup, I pair a 6x9 on a reasonable amp will give a decent amount of bass and treble, nothing amazing but great value for what you get.

Personally i like 6x9s.
In my car i have Kicker Components and a Sony Xplod Sub, and it didn't sound that great, even though it had been set up properly.
So i put some Vibe slick 6x9s in and got them set up properly and it sounds 100 times better as it feels like surround sound
So give 6x9s a break.
