Agreed, does look like a nice job though, shame they're on the floor!

wohhhh wohhhhhh with brining it down.ok,first in the pix i moved the chair back for the photos.when it's in the position it normally sits in their is no chance of them being stepped on.people have a ride in the car and dont even know theirs a speaker bellow them.i know sq isnt going to be great, but im not after quality, just loud to be honest!basically ive got no back seats as i use it as a van for my kite surfing gear and bmx.i used to have a sub in the boot n that, but since i took it all out ive had a 4 channel phoenix gold laying about with no use....so one weekend i thought, right, lets chuck 4 speakers in the front!and thats what i did!
basically made shallow mdv holders, fixed to the floor then fitted new
carpet on top!it's all a good laugh!before anyone thinks i did it to be ''cool''
i def did not!just had an idea n went with it.fair enough sound quality isn't perfect, but 2 coaxial's and 2 components running off a quality 4 channel.i't dont sound all that crap!

to peter with the lovely white fiesta.shut up.I made it clear i wasn't after tip top sound quality.and in a fiesta what is wrong with music coming from the floor?yeah your legs are their but it doesnt make it sound crap.
now the other reply, thanks, its actually a really easy build to do.and it sounds really good.I can understand where people are coming from, going on aout sound stage etc etc that they've prob read.at the end of the day its a '95 fiesta im using as a van 4 my gear,i really couldnt care if its not quite right listening 2 track 12 on mozarts greatest hits ya know?

Its nothing to do with what we've read, its more to do with the fact that its going to muffle the vocals as you have the mat over the top
As for stageing, you obviously havnt a clue what it is...have a look at any competition level system as these are the benchmarks by which most car audio enthusiasts set their standards, I can gaurentee you non have had the genious to put the speakers in the floor under floor mats
Most people like to hear clear undestorted vocals...you obviously do not and thats your choice, but as said the stageing will be gash and the whole idea is pointless IMO

Certainly a novel idea, and for that i like it even looks pretty tidy too.
As most have said though i imagine the seat cushion does muffle alot of the sound from them.
You should get 6x9's and just turn up the bass, should produce quite a kick being right underneath you.

people winge about where the speakers are.what about door speakers?they fired str8 into your ankles and the centre console across the bottom of the car.its really not much difference.it sounds fine, looks good and fresh,im happy with it cos ive never seen it before and i like trying new things.

You've hit the nail on the! Cause the fiesta has the worst position for door speakers. Bye the way, a mate of mine did this in his polo end of '90's (didn't look as good as yours mind) but still sounded s**t.

What a good idea as it suits you for what you use the car for.
A mates brother put a 2 8" subwoofers in custom boxes underneath the front seats in his rover to allow him to use his boot and they sounded great.

Subs are different though as they knock out lower frequencies and the sound isn't muffled so much.

ALot of people with 2 seater sports cars like MR2's or Ferrari, Porsche's etc do this, or they put them in the glove compartment, as obviously boot space is limited or non-existent

Is there enough depth below fiesta seats to fit a 8" or 10" sub?
This sounds like a idea I might have to investigate.
