Sportcat for my RS1800
I have just bought a ashley 4-2-1 manifold and i need a new cat.
My old one is empty ( last owner ) Now i have 2 choices, a normal cat or a sportcat
Does it have any pro's for my RS or ? more BHP or sound ?
Is also need to fit my zetec turbo project, can a normal cat handle 280 bhp ? or is a sportcat a better option
p.s do i need to put back the oxygen or is there another option ?

Re: Sportcat for my RS1800
i have a 1.6 si with sport cat and found no major differance what so ever to the performance, just louder along with the a differant backbox tho.
as for the CAT question, iirc fuel can damage the cat quite alot and as you will be putting bigger injectors in etc then the possiblity of overfueling and unburnt fuel could damage it.. but then again i may be wrong

Thats true to much unburned fuel in the exhaust can burn the inside away.
But can someone confirm if a normal cat can be put behind a 280 BHP zetec engine ?
Or does it restrict the exhaust flow ?
