My rear coilovers are very HARD. How do i find out the spring rate and wot would u recomend for a soft ride, but not too soft so it scrubs.
Its for the rears so aslong as i chop back enough, i could have it well soft.

You should have the spring poundage written on the springs themselves Matt.

What coilovers have you got Matt? I've got AVO coilovers and they are very hard, I've been trying to set mine at a softer setting. I was told with the AVO's to set them at the softest setting at the rear.

Mine knock at the rear as well, seems to be a common problem with Si's. I used to have Leda springs, I was told they're more for track days etc. and although they are top quality, they are maybe a bit too hard for everyday use.

I changed to Powerflex polyurethane bushes and I wouldn't recommend it. Gradually changing back to standard Ford bushes.

You can get softer springs from Demon Tweeks etc, only about £10 each.

I'm in Colchester, we had a discussion about my poly bushes on your site, fm-design.co.uk, a while ago. In my opinion they ruined the handling of my car. I don't know exactly where they are fitted, but I bought the full Powerflex bush kit for my car. I know the rear axle had to come off when they were fitted. They were fitted by Leda Suspension, in Braintree. I've since had the lower trailing arms changed back to Ford ones, as one of the Powerflex bushes split. I may get all the remaining bushes changed back as well.

By the way Fras, what braking set up did you end up with? I know you were having problems in October/November.
