st170 inlet manifold fit a 2.0 Fiesta?

Postby scarlet_pimp_mobile on Fri Oct 28, 2005 10:21 pm

I've searched the forums about this question but seems a bit of a mystery.

Can the inlet manifold from the ST170 engine be used in a converted 2.0 Fez? The main issue is of course, space and the second is whether it would have any advantages over the RS1800 inlet manifold?

thanks in advance for any info on this. :)

The manifold does extend back so I think it will definitely foul the brake bar.

I am using the stub manifold part, but I could try the rest of it to see if there is a way to squeeze it in.

As for advantages, its better design than the other manifolds. Has dual runners inside the manifold that slide. Gives better torque low down and more power higher up.

You can have a look on Mark's (Excursion) site.

im very very interested in this conversion.
mainly because im doing it, i got st170 manifold and fireblade boddies.
there are some problems ive come across.
firstly is the space for the air filters?????????????????
secondly is the throttle cable, bikes have a short ammount of movement due to them having twist throttle as opposed to a long travelling foot accelerator???????????????????
thirdly is the engine management, i am using xr3i 1990 spec management and was going to fit a unichip once it was up and running, but will this be compatable with the st170 injectors?????????????????
