Does the focus st170 exhaust manigold fit on the 2.0 litre mondy engine? Iam sure it would being the same kind of engine? What I really want to know is could you use it when doing the 2.0 litre conversion in the mk3 fiesta?

I think the ST170 manifold is the tubular 4-2-1 one isn't it?

Quite sure I read somewhere that the ST170 is basically a series 1/2 made to look like a Duratec.

The inlet manifold definately fits so the exhaust should fit aswell... in theory... maybe :-?

As Frostie said, you'll have to modify the downpipe anyway so unless you are doing some other mods the gains wont be significant to warrant the work involved (imo) so probs better to go for an RS18i manifold.

Or maybe you could go for the Focus RS manifold and turbo your 2.0? :D

I seen a st170 manifold goin cheap on ebay sometime ago, it just got me thinking thats all. I need to start collecting parts for the conversion, thought it might work. Yeah st170 and focus RS are just jazzed up series 3 zetec like in the focus but with duratec on the top.

Read my thread in member's gallery! :bonkers:

I fitted ALL the st170 running gear to my car but NOT the manifold, as it DOESN'T fit as standard.

YES it does fit directly to the zetec head but it has a big bend in it where it goes down to two pipes, this bend will NOT clear the front lower panel on the fiesta so it will need cutting/welding by someone very talented at in this field. A lot of hassle to go to when there are plenty of other manifolds already available for the zetec.

I use a YKC sportscars 4-2-1 manifold on mine and it's brilliant :Q

The st170 manifold WILL improve power on the zetec as that's why ford fitted it on the st170, as all the st170 lump is, is a series 3 "black-top" zetec with variable cam-timing, variable inlet runners, waisted valves, uprated pistons/rods, and of course a better exhaust manifold.

I don't run a cat because i don't want one anywhere near my "Manj"
The manifold DOES come with a joining piece which incorporates the Lambda sensor and you just need to take this piece to a reputable welder (or do it yourself if you have the gear) and have the correct flange welded onto it to suit your Cat, a bit of careful measuring involved but you would have to do that anyway even with the ST stuff...

My manifold was about £250, it was used originally on my Connaught N/A 220BHP 2.1 zetec that was in my fez prior to the ST conversion so I know it's more than man-enough for what gasses the ST170 engine flows out of its arse! :Q :bonkers:

Try them on: ykcsportscars.co.uk I know the bloke retired but there's a phone number on there and they're selling off zetec engines and stuff so could still have some manifolds too - you never know you might get one cheap:-?
