I just had this problem in the last few weeks. But I topped up on oil/radiator water and it seemed to be fine. Used tyo stall about 6 times a session, now its stalled once in 3 weeks and that was 'cause my oil was a bit low.

Give it a shot mate, let your engine get cold, check your oil and top up if need be.

If it's happening when your approaching junctions it could be your idle speed control valve.

Try cleaning it with carb cleaner or replacing it.

sorry to say this mate but that a sure sign your engine has exsessive piston ring wear and is the start before the the piston seize, pston ring go boom or the whole engine going ka boom my 1.1 did this for a week before i was driving it on the motorway and boom my 3rd piston rammed through the side of the cylinder block and killed itself

I was having this problem, opened up my idle control valve and sprayed with carb cleaner (as suggested before), been running fine ever since.

baffled as to how hcs pimp came to the conclusion that the rings are worn because its got a tickover fault???????????

and if rings are worn it would not make the pistons smash through the block.......... lack of oil, overheating, detonation, cap bolts snapping, prolonged misfire etc... would cause that surely?

:oooh:
